Farmer sacrifices 105 buffaloes to get a masculine baby

As many as four million Hindu devotees from India come to take a part in in Gadhimai festive celebration. Around 75% of masses who perform sacrificial ceremonial in Gadhimai festive celebration are Indians. The festival is chiefly celebrated for 2 days. It is mainly attended by Bihari and Madhesi people of Hindu descent.


Gadhimai is considered as a goddess of power. People often travel to the Gadhimai temple with the aim to please her in order to fulfill their prayers and wishes. People arrive from different parts of India, many of them carrying pigs, chickens, goats and buffaloes for the ritual sacrifice. Raman Thakur a peasant from Bihar sacrificed 105 buffaloes to show respect toward the goddess for granting him with a masculine baby.
